Shark Week Pt 01

Some Shark Week Sketch Jam sketchbook doodles:

Day 1:  The Spotted Houndshark

Day 2:  The Bull Shark

Day 3: The Epaulette Shark

Day 4:  The Wobbegong (or Carpet Shark)

I've got more of them I still need to scan. I also have more sharks to draw and more terrible jokes to write, so I'll be posting more soon. Happy Shark Week!!!

Sketchbook pages

"Black Christmas" Show at QPop

I recently did a couple of pieces for QPop's "Black Christmas" show (open to the public tomorrow, 12/15).
Here is a scan of some deep-sea mermaids I painted:

5x7" gouache and ink

Here are my two pieces in their frames:

Forgot to scan this one, but here is a poorly lit photo of it:

Many amazing artists are participating in this horror-themed show, so please check it out! More info on the show's flyer below, featuring artwork by the talented Stephanie Ramirez:

Hoity Toity Part 2

Another one for the show:

Hoity Toity

Early last week my computer kicked the bucket :( Posting on this blog may be infrequent for the next couple of weeks until my new PC arrives. For now here's one of my pieces for Girls Drawin Girls' upcoming "Hoity Toity" show. The show will open at Pehrspace in Echo Park on February 12th at 9pm. There will be a DJ, burlesque dancers, and all around fun so I hope to see you there! This one is watercolor, gouache & ink:
