The Grocery Store Pundit

I've been doing more comics in my sketchbook lately. This one is about yet another weird encounter I had the other night at my local Albertsons. It seems like every time I go there, I see something weird. I did not make any of this dialogue up...these are the exact puns the rather hammy cashier used when I got up to the checkout stand....


I hurriedly left the store with many questions--exactly how many grocery puns does that guy have in his repertoire? Just what is the appropriate response to an unexpected barrage of food-related jokes? And why is it so hard to control my face during awkward situations?

    (After the seeing the trailer for Cloudy 2, I'm thinking maybe the folk working on it used him as a consultant :3)

    I think every one of us has had an awkward encounter with a guy like that. So hilarious! The facial expressions in this are the best!

    I'm 99% certain I've gotten that guy a few times, and yeah, there is no end to the puns. I can't imagine you can just switch that on or off. I'm willing to bet this is how he always talks 24/7
