Wildlife Waystation Sketches

On Saturday I had the privilege of going to the Wildlife WayStation with Alice Herring, Carrie Liao, and a group of other artists. It was a pretty amazing experience--I've never had the chance to see these animals at such close range before. Here are a couple of sketchbook pages from the day:

The three of us had so much fun at the WayStation we were thinking of doing an LA zoo drawing day in a couple of weekends. If anyone else is interested, please let us know and we will post details in the coming weeks :)

Diatom Girls

I know it's been inexcusably long since my last post! Here is my piece for Girls Drawin' Girls' upcoming Vol. 4 book. This year's book is plant themed and I chose diatoms:
