Being Sick this Weekend and Encountering the Taylor Swift Guy...

I ended up being at CTN-X this weekend for a total of maybe 3 hours. Much of that time was spent sitting at a table at the bar, nursing a mug of tea in a near catatonic state. Basically I came down with some cold or flu almost immediately after I arrived on Saturday afternoon, and when I woke up Sunday morning I was feeling too terrible to go back. I'm still really bummed out that I didn't get a chance to meet a lot of you guys, especially those of you who came such a long way to be at the convention!

But alas, this was me on Sunday morning, feverish, wishing I could have been there:
After sleeping away most of the day, I ventured out to the market seeking ingredients for chicken soup. While I was there, I witnessed something kind of amazing:

You can't make this kind of dialogue up. Ran into these two in the cereal aisle sometime later, before the song was finished playing...the guy seriously knew every. Single. Lyric. I almost wish that damned "Call Me Maybe" song had come on immediately afterward just so I could see the other guy in his element.

Wolves

Some days I see a woman walking a pair of gorgeous, wolf-like dogs (they have to be Northern Inuits, or actual wolf-dog hybrids). I saw them earlier today, strolling in the mist.

The drawing ended up feeling a bit like a younger Catelyn Stark.

Hiccup and Toothless

I was playing with some Photoshop brushes today...Decided to draw Hiccup and (a gigantic) Toothless.

Who's going to CTN-X? I'll be wandering about on Saturday (and possibly sometime tomorrow afternoon as well). I look forward to seeing you guys there!

Post-It Doodles and Fake Boobs

Happy Monday, friends! I decided to put up some quick post-it doodles that Carrie and I exchanged today as they were far too silly not to share.

Friday was Carrie's birthday, and a few of us went to grab dinner at a place in Hollywood. Our waitress was a slender girl who wore an incredibly form fitting, low cut top that prominently displayed her obviously enhanced chest. It was seriously distracting...

At some point in the evening, I felt some unnaturally firm, round object rest on my shoulder. After a few moments, I realized that this was what was happening:
I actually don't think she noticed....

Carrie pointed out that I had actually drawn our waitress in too modest a top and reminded me that she was in fact showing way more skin. Here were her hilarious interpretations:

We tried to generally recall what our waitress looked like.

My first attempt:

This was my second attempt:

Carrie's next attempt:
Mine:

Carrie's:
(I freaking love the booblashes..nice touch, Carrie)

If any of the rest of you guys who were there that night want to offer your own interpretation of the subject, please post them or send them to me because I'd love to see your take on this....

My Voting Sticker...

I hope all of you guys were able to make it out the polls yesterday! It was nice to see so many of you beautiful young people out there proudly wearing your "I Voted!" stickers. Unfortunately, I lost mine almost immediately after I received it..or so I thought...

Thanks, Januel Mercado. And this is why we are friends :P

The Drawing Club--Tron Theme

It's been a couple of years since I last stopped by the Drawing Club. I'm pretty out of practice and almost didn't end up going, but I happened to read an inspiring blog entry by the amazingly talented, ever insightful Dave Pimentel. I'm really glad I ended up going because despite the initial feelings of insecurity and rustiness, I ended up having a lot of fun.

Here are a few sketches from the night, most of them were drawn with a black Copic sketch marker, and I added a little color to a couple of them with colored pencil/marker:

Halloween Sketch

It is that time of the year, so I figured I ought to do at least one creepy drawing.

This was somewhat inspired by my current state (no, not the cannibalism part). I had some minor dental surgery this morning and I've been bleeding a bit all day (I know, I know..very attractive and professional).
